Situated at 3,100 metres above sea level, the Kulmhotel Gornergrat is the highest hotel in the Swiss Alps. Its impressive location and unrivalled views of the surrounding peaks make it a top destination for climbers, skiers and astronomy enthusiasts.
The hotel opened in 1907. In 1996, two observatories were built one after the other, housed in high towers. In fact, it is both a scientific station and a holiday destination.
